At Larkfield Veterinary Hospital, we work with your dog's individual vaccination needs depending on lifestyle. All dogs are required by the county to receive Rabies vaccinations. All puppies receive their initial vaccines to protect against Parvo and Distemper Once they are adults, their lifestyle and exposure help to tailor their vaccination program to provide protection without unnecessary vaccines. A full equipped surgical suite provides and excellent and safe atmosphere for your pet when undergoing any surgical procedure. We offer a wide range of surgical services including tumor removals, biopsies, spays and neuters, abdominal surgeries including foreign body retrieval along with specialty surgeries performed by board certified surgeon, Dr. Sean Wells DACVS.
Dr. Wells evaluates your pets X-rays/ultrasound images, discusses history and provides information about the surgical options available for the injury/illness at hand. His surgical expertise ranges from orthopedic, soft tissue and neurologic.
We provide in house state of the ultrasounds with experienced staff to help gain the most information from this imaging tool. An ultrasound uses sound waves to painlessly examine the internal body of your pet.
Ultrasound (sonogram) of your pet's internal organs or heart is a critical tool to help detect, diagnose and monitor illnesses in your pet. An ultrasound can provide information that bloodwork and traditional X-rays may overlook including intestinal obstructions, tumors/cancer, fluid along with staging chronic disease (kidney, heart, liver and spleen)
Digital Radiology & Electrocardiology Services:
We offer a comprehensive digital dental exam, state of the art full mouth dental X-rays, complete cleaning with polish as well as any extractions or mass removals/biopsies when indicated. We strongly believe that prevention and maintenance of dental health at home is vital to your pets overall health. We offer a variety of at-home dental care products to help lengthen the time between dental cleanings.
Full in-house Laboratory Services:
Our full in-house laboratory provides timely and accurate blood results for your sick or injured pet. It is also used to evaluate your pets organ function prior to surgeries, dental cleanings or any procedures requiring anesthesia to ensure the safest approach to anesthesia for your pet. A full line of snap tests are also available on site to evaluate for heartworms, tick-borne diseases (4DX), parvo virus and FIV/ Felv test for cats. We work closely with the reference laboratory and send out samples for analysis of urine, cultures, biopsies and cytology samples.
